Continuation of previous blog

According to http://www.rateitall.com/t-1283-most-influential-people-in-world-history.aspx, the list of the top ten people who influenced history are:

Jesus Christ (Jew)
Muhammed (Influenced by Jews)
Hitler (Exterminated Jews)
Buddha (didn't know Jews)
Einstein (Jew)
Guttenberg (Jew)
Reagan (Why is he here?)
Moses (Jew)
Martin Luther (Wanted to convert Jews)
Abraham Lincoln (Jewish name)

I realize that this is an unscientific list and I don't agree with all the selections (Reagan?). I do find it interesting that of the 10, four are Jews, and eight out of ten had a major connections with Jews. Maybe there is something to being chosen.

  1. Judaism signigantly effected Western civilization, and no credible historian would dispute that. However, I think the reason for your observation is that this list has a TREMENDOUS Western bias.

Why are Ho-Chi-Mihn and Mao Zedong not on here? Akbar the great? Ghengis Khan? The anonymous Chineese mystics who brought us gunpowder? And is it fair to count Moses since we don't even know for sure he existed? And Einstein is overrated-- scientificly, he was amazing, he's huge in popular culture, but relative to quantum physicists (no pun intended) he didn't do much for nuclear science, and his theories don't have much practical application yet. And even though he's Western, what about Constantine? And not to go over-the-top with the nitpicking, but Calvin was more influential than Luther.

Though to be devil's advocate, Karl Marx (another Jew, unfortunately) really ought to be included.
